vSKOOL Offers of Support

"vSKOOL demonstrates once again how the education community can be counted on to rise to the occasion when disaster strikes. As a community, we at vSKOOL share a belief that online courses and other technology-related educational products and services, such as the establishment of community- or school-based computer learning labs, will help states, districts, and schools meet the needs of those who were displaced and be a welcome addition to ongoing relief efforts."

Dr. Helen Soulé, Executive Director
Cable in the Classroom

Dozens of organizations are making donations to support the education of the approximately 372,000 displaced K-12 students and educators through the schools serving them. These donations are for free (or, in some cases, reduced price) educational products and services for the 2005-2006 school year, if not longer. In some cases, providers may be willing to provide access to their services in settings other than schools.

If you are a school/school district/state representative who would like additional details on a category of offers (or a specific offer), email us here at vSKOOL. If you are a provider of online instructional services to displaced students and are in need of additional, highly-qualified educators to deliver those services, email us here at vSKOOL. We maintain a list of experienced volunteers.

Interested in being listed on this page or in offering your support as a concerned individual, click on the Supporting vSKOOL link to complete our online vSKOOL Survey of Offers of Support.

NOTE: Inclusion in the VSKOOL initiative does not constitute an endorsement of any service or product.
